Renee Swanson is a LiscMarriage and Family Therapist at Pathway Therapy Center with a passion for psychology, interpersonal relationships, and understanding how people think, feel, and behave. She holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University.
Renee's previous experience includes working with clients at an inpatient substance abuse rehabilitation center, where she addressed mental health issues including trauma, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders, in addition to substance abuse and addiction. Renee also has experience working as a Certified Nutrition Consultant and owning a small retail business. Currently, Renee works with individuals, couples, and partners as they navigate the effects of sex and pornography addiction. She believes that each client is unique and should have a tailored therapeutic experience to meet their specific needs and goals. Renee works in an integrative manner, utilizing tools from different types of therapy including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, relational, and acceptance and commitment. Renee's philosophy is to collaborate with the client and provide respect, non-judgmental support, and empathy as they determine their next steps in life.
